- Who are you?
I am Aidan Sadik – I’m from New York with African predecessors. I strive to protect that that is important to me.


- How old are you?
25

What year were you born and how old were you when you Awakened?
I was born 17 May 1988 and I was awakened on the 11th of October 1995

Did your Awakening make you old beyond your years or are you emotionally a child?
It made my mental abilities well advanced, while still keeping my physical body as youthful and in its prime.

Do you look your years?
I am said to look older then I am because of the lines that have formed under my eyes and my face becoming more drawn out. The people that are closer to me think I still look childish once I stop wearing my “mask”

- What was unique about your childhood?
I enjoyed school and got along with my teachers fairly well. I also started martial arts at the age of 5. I also grow up without knowing my mother and at the age of 10 my father was killed in a racial attack, since then I have kinda looked after myself. I dropped out of school and become a shadow of who I was until I was about 13 when I found some stability with a small family on my suburb’s outskirts. After this I continued to led a normal life

What were your early years like? Did you get along well with your family or were your relations troubled?
I had a mixed childhood as I stated above. I had experienced many aspects of life before I was 15. My relation with my Dad was the closest I have had with anyone until recent times, but I did get along with my second family very well and become close friends with their daughter.

Did you like school, and if so, why?
School I enjoyed. I got on with teachers and students alike, I was perceived as popular although I only stayed in the back ground and observed mostly. I stayed out of trouble (somehow) the whole time I was there.

Did it challenge you or insult your intelligence?
It was a combination of both. I am wise beyond my years I admit, but the challenge was not showing it yet still passing with high enough grades while remaining under the radar.

Did you fit in the high school pecking order or were you ostracized?
I was near the top... but I never abused that. But I saw what people at the top do to the ones near the bottom... and what people at the bottom do to get to the top. This scared me, the things people will do to each other.

Or did you create a clique of your own, foreshadowing the members-only world into which you’ve stumbled?

What about life after school?
I left school early, at the age of 15 and went travelling; it was a get back to nature experience. Or at least that is what I told me ‘family’. The real reasons I went was to practice and explore magic and also to see where my ancestors are from. I also learnt ~3 languages in the same amount of years.

Was there college or did you go straight into the work force?
When I returned to my home town I got a job doing random stuff, I have never had a ‘proper’ job, or one that has lasted over 6 months


Are or were you married?
This is something that I don’t talk about often, when people ask I persuade them into believing they already know and they forget to ask for a while. That is all I will say on the subject.


Do you have any long-term friendships or just acquaintances?
I have quite a few long term friendships, but mostly just acquaintances. This suits me better as I like to move around alot. But everywhere I go I like to make at least one “good” friend that I can trust and turn to if everything turns to crap on me.


- What kind of person were you?
I normally keep to the background. I don’t like drawing unnecessary attention to myself; this can be harmful and stupid. I respect all life form and find it pitiful the way some people treat both plants and animals.

What were you like before Awakening? A chivalrous example to all, or a cad?
Before my awakening? Well, I was a little too young to remember much... I would say a so-so type of kid... just the average 5 and under.


Are you likable to strangers or do people have to get to know you?
It is a bit of both. I am likable to most people that meet me but they only begin to actually like me once they know me, which in itself is quite hard to do most of the time.

Are you rude to those who disrespect you or do you turn the other cheek?
I generally ignore people that are rude to me; it depends on how they are rude and what they are rude about. Some things I won’t forgive but I won’t tell you about those, but you will know if you touch a nerve


What experiences of the supernatural have you had?
I have a few experiences... it is hard to explain what it is like... you just see something out of the corner of your eye but you can’t focus on it. That is all that has happened to me.

- When did you first feel the brush of magic?
About 1 week before my awakening. That was a scary, scary day. I will never forget it. I was wakening home where I say a person kicking a puppy. I yelled at the guy to stop and he wouldn’t, I yelled at him again and he dropped to the ground unconscious. Since that day that dog has become my closest friend.

Was it an unlimited sense of wonder or a nightmare you’re still trying to forget?
I would say it was a sense of wonder. I knocked some bloke out just by yelling... you gotta admit that is pretty cool

Have you seen a spirit or a ghost, or witnessed someone do something that can’t be explained away by the normal laws of physics?
First off can human emotions be explained by the laws of physics? And physics hasn’t yet branched out into the realm of the dead yet, so it is yet to be defined. But everything in nature defies us in some way and we just “invented” physics

Do you believe the occult to be synonymous with Satan, or are you more open minded?
"Knowledge of the hidden" referring to Satan? I don’t think it is

- Who was your first mentor?
My Sensei, who taught me not only my forms of martial arts but also my basic understanding of life. Even after his death he has been watching over me. My second most important one is my awakener... she has helped me alot with magic and the know how of it. After him I would say ever person I have witnessed has been my mentor, I learn from where they fail and where they succeed


Who was the first mage to find you upon your Awakening?
Edeva – meaning a rich gift. I have seen her periodically throughout my life.


Was he helpful or abusive?
_She_ was very helpful, explained everything to me and where I was to go to from there

Did he offer his aid or did you have to beg him for it? Or did you refuse his offers?
As the good little boy I accepted all her help like she was my mother. I’m very grateful for everything she has done for me thus far, and when I see her I no that only good fortune can come from it.

Does he hold political power among the Awakened, or is he a pariah?
SHE is a nomad like me, but she still has quite a bit of power within the Awakened. She is also introducing me to important people every now and again; this is why I am generally allowed to do what I want, as long as I don’t take it too far. This has also made me somewhat of an outsider, which is what I have always seen myself as.

Are you still loyal to him or do you prefer to forget him?
I am very loyal to her, if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be the person I am today


- Do you maintain a sanctum?
No, I leave that up to the radicals

Where do you live and work your magic?
Mainly on my travels, but sometimes in towns, cities. Where ever it is needed. I only ever practice where it is safe to practice though


Or do you share a sanctum with others, such as your cabal or your mentor? Where is it and how obvious is it?
Sanctums aren’t my type of thing, I have been to my mentors a few times, in fact I will be heading there as soon as I finish this. It is in a town called Cooma. It is of little importance, but a political sect of mages has infiltrated the Government of Australia and schools have become a place where we can observe the young and watch for the future mages. We are currently trying to establish this worldwide. I have been summoned there to obverse a student with a potential power similar to my own.

Are you attached to it or are you looking to move the first chance you get?
I have been to many, most are boring places and only places I go when called for or in need of help.


• Do you retain any connections to your Sleeper life?
No, I can’t say that I do

Do your parents and friends still know you?
My friends from school I have lost contact with when I left, the other friends I have all over the place? We try to keep in contact just to know where our safe places are.

Do you visit them frequently? What about talking to them over the phone?
We try to keep this type of contact minimal but we have other ways of contacting each other. Especially we Life and Spirit users.

How do you explain your strange absences and new obsessions?
These friends are all mages or know about me being a mage; they understand what is going on. But my life is pretty normal anyway... nothing really to explain


Do you involve them in your new work?
Only some of them, and depending on the work. Most of it I can do by myself, it is mainly identifying the ones with and without talent. It isn’t a challenging task


Do other mages know about them?
Yes it is apart of a network known among mages. But I’m not sure if they know which I am friends with and which are just working partners

• What motivates you?
My mentor has been a big motivator. But I normally don’t need one, I am usually self motivated. This also means I can do things at my own pace

What are your goals? Revenge for a past slight? Mastery of an Arcanum or Arcana? To become powerful in mage society? Or do you spurn power for wisdom and spiritual awareness, preferring knowledge to conflict and wealth?
My one and only goal is to live a life that I won’t regret. This isn’t anything too hard to accomplish...

Do you desire to mentor other mages?
Only one: I don’t know which one it will be, but when I see them I will know they are the one and I shall take him or her on and teach all that I know to them.

Do you want others to Awaken?
Yes, some mages don’t as they see it as a threat to them; these people are only worried about personal gain. I can see no harm from it – it can only be a good thing.


If you could have anything you wanted (which isn’t beyond possibility for a mage!), what would it be?
This I am unsure of as of yet.
