Arkor Krol was one of the six greatest heroes Salenheim has ever known, a party of adventurers from all spectrums that banded together to fight the influences of evil.

Origins

Arkor was born in 1E490 in a small farming village on the edge of a large forest in the center of the Southern Salenheim Highlands. He was the only child of a hunter and his wife, and from an early age accompanied his father on hunting trips learning the skills of the hunter trade.
At the age of 12, it was noted that Arkor had an uncanny ability with a bow. Due to this he was sent to the nearby legion fort to be trained with the archers of the fort, whilst still spending much time in the forest with his father hunting the wild beasts.
At age 15, Arkor met the love of his life and his sole focus for the next 4 years, a beautiful girl of his age by the name of Alyssa Terrell.
Arkor and Alyssa were a classic love story, spending every free moment together. So sure was Arkor's love for her that he proposed marriage at the young age of 18.
However the classic love story turned into a classic tragedy as, one winter soon after their marriage, Alyssa was struck down with a dire sickness and passed away.
So shattered was Arkor that he removed himself from his life totally. He bade farewell to his parents, left his village and began a life living as a hermit deep within the forest, using his amazing bow hunting ability to survive and protect himself from the wild beasts. This time alone helped Arkor survive the grief and shaped him as the strong willed man he would become.
His life as a hermit lasted two years but was ended abruptly. One day while out hunting deer, Arkor’s well attuned ears picked up the sound of a female human's scream, interested, Arkor quickly closed on the source of the scream.
What Arkor found was two familiar faces. He saw one of the legionaries from the fort he had trained at, a harsh sergeant who had been leader of a spearman unit, and also the terrified face of a young girl he knew from his old village, although she was much more matured than the girl in Arkor’s memories.
It was plain from the way the soldier dragged the scratched and dirty girl that he planed to take her deep into the woods, out of ear-shot, in order to have his way with her.
Arkor acted out of impulse with no consideration or second thoughts. The man’s grip on the girl’s wrist loosened as Arkor’s arrow embedded itself into the man's shoulder. The girl took her chance and ran. Like the good legionary he was, the solider turned to face his attacker just in time to catch the second arrow in the chest.

The young village girl turned back, in her blind fear praying to the gods not to let the sergeant be chasing her. What she saw was not much less disturbing - the legionary had fallen to his knees trying desperately to remove the arrow from his chest. A ragged bowman stepped out from the shadows of a tree, she recognized him but wasn’t sure where from. The hunter drew his blade and as though the soldier was nothing more than a beast slipped his knife into the sergeant’s neck and let him bleed out on the forest floor.
The young girl could look no more; her eyes stayed rigidly forwards all the way back to the village.

Arkor stood over the body of his kill, like he had done so many times with wild beasts. He was terrified, not due to his actions nor fear of the consequences, he was shocked that he felt nothing, he had killed a man he knew and there was no remorse in his body.
Arkor knew that the sergeant would be missed back at the fort and if Arkor himself was found it would mean certain death for both him and the village girl. He knew what had to be done.
Arkor looted the sergeant’s body both to provide him with coin for his coming journey and to make the killing look more like the work of bandits, and under cover of night returned once more to his village to pray one last time at the grave of his beloved Alyssa.

Leaving all he knew behind Arkor set out along a road heading west for the fishing town of Welgan hoping once again to find a new start in life.
