Kaede Odorenko

Kaede Odorenko was one of a group of heroes, originally part of a combined invasion of the Salenheimian continent by Schlarrg and Kasamaki forces.

History

Kaede Odorenko was born as the daughter of an aristocrat in Lazuli Delta, capital of Kasamaka. A rebellious child, she roamed the streets of Lazuli Delta fairly freely, giving her valuable training for later life. At the age of 13, she was dared by friends to break into an imposing house in the Garden Quarter and take something as proof. Kaede gained access to the house, but upon her exit with a pair of decorative sai, she was stopped by an elderly man. This turned out to be the leader of all Kasamaki assassins. He saw potential in her movements during the burglary, and contacted her father, requesting permission to give her instruction in Linai, the Kasamaki assassins' martial art. Her father gave her this permission and she was sent to the group’s remote island dojo.
After many years of training in Linai, Kaede was sent to assassinate many T’Al-Lafan and Niedar nobles, achieving the best track record of an assassin in several decades. Finally, in an attempt to assassinate the Empire’s own head Xinow, as he was preventing any progress at all within the country. She succeeded, but caught by palace guards while exiting, and was sentenced to death, before being unexpectedly conscripted and assigned to a group of varied troops sent to Southern Salenheim under the command of Pi-Mae Shou.
