Petrof Santorast is one of Salenheim's greatest heroes, one of four heroes who fought for their lives and their nation during the era of the First Empire.

History

Petrof was born at an unknown date in the year 1E485 in the town of Santora, Eslay Coast Province. Abandoned by his parents, he was adopted by the Chief Abbot of the Temple to Tristan in the town and given the name of Petrof Santorast, Petrof simply because the Abbot liked the name, and Santorast standing for the town of his finding - Santora, and the 'st' for Son of Tristan. He grew up within the cloistered walls of the temple, learning the arts of Tristan, including healing, meditation and magic.
A few months short of Petrof's 19th birthday, raiders from the Northern Continent sacked the entire town, reducing all the buildings to rubble and slaughtering any man they found, their rage particularly focused on the 'heretic' temples of the Salenheimian gods.
The man awoke sprawled in the rubble that was all that remained of his sanctuary, at the foot of the major shrine to Tristan in his temple. Despite a badly broken arm, upon the observation of raiders drinking of the temples stores of drink for passing travellers, he flew into a rage, seizing one of the heavy candlesticks upon the altar, and leapt at the Northerners. Before the raiders had even begun to think about drawing weapons, they were bludgeoned down and killed.
After the defeat of the men, he left the temple and the town, wandering the country, immersed in his grief and pain at his loss. After many years, he arrived at a lake deep in the forests of the Schyst Creek Region. He fell down prostate before its waters, a voice proclaiming to him from the fog above the waters to become a missionary, to find his greatness and his faith in the town of Welgan.
He left for the town, setting up a basic temple, and fighting his inner pain as best he could...

Appearance

Petrof was a man of average height, with deep blue eyes and shoulder-length dark hair. He wore a silver cuirass, trousers and a long dark cloak and hood. Petrof bore Tristan's own weapon - a silver flail, carven with runes and fish.
