The Order of the OctodeusThis is a featured page

octodeus starThe Order of the Octodeus is a religious order based in Salenheim City. The name literally means the Order of the Eight Gods, in this case refering to four of the first generation gods (Sven, Tiagarath, Harajat and Tenadolus (the combination of Kumolus and Tenad) and four second generation gods (Konrad, Nathanial, Tristan and Welmer). The order also respects the worshippers of other gods in addition to the eight (most notably Ynsertu). The order is well respected as being a more open-minded and liberal organisation than the Church of Tiagarath despite its harsh stance on heretics (worshippers of Karhn and Diaccis as well as practisers of unholy magic such as necromancers). The order's elite are usually people of both divine and physical power and are widely respected as some of the finest shock troopers in the land.

The ability to channel the energy from multiple gods allows the order to use powers in unique combinations. Examples of this include a knight calling the powers of Harajat to transport them invisibly through the shadow realm whilst gaining a blessing of combat from Konrad and elemental powers from Nathanial.

The Order of the Octodeus is believed to be linked to the Avatar of the True Gods who wielded the Sword of Beltar prior to the unification of the Salenheimian Empire. It was founded in the early days of the Empire in Salenheim City where a cultural melding pot of religions had developed due to the recently opened borders.

Knights of the Octodeus are usually heavily armoured and rely on a combination of divine magic and martial maneuvers, this however is not the case for all followers; for example their are both assasin and arcane spellcaster sects within the order.
