Tiagarath
Lord Tiagarath The Bright
Major God of the Light
Physical description:
Of all the gods the image of Tiagarath is one of the most well know throughout Salenheim being shown not only in temples but almost all civic building as well. Tiagarath is always shown to be a large Human Male Riding a powerful white horse, Tiagarath wares heavy jeweled armor plated with gold and silver and a Golden crown, sometimes he is shown with flowing white/blonde hair but other times his hair is replaced with white flames atop his head.
Teachings:
The teachings of Tiagarath are wide and varied but all follow a common code of doing good unto others and protecting the weak.
Zeal, Chastity, Humility and Charity are all virtues taught by Tiagarath. However unlike Konrad Tiagarath does not ask his followers to be peaceful and it is common place for followers of Tiagarath to be crusading to far of lands to combat that which offends the god.
Followers:
Tiagarath is considered one of the most powerful gods (at least that’s what one of his priests will tell you) and as such has a very large number of followers (some not so by choice). The general populous will pray to Tiagarath now and then and bring offerings of Wheat stalks and gold to his shrines in extange for a blessing, however more devout followers take up the sword and become knights in the service of the church of Tiagarath this Knightly order is extremely zealous but not as well trained, this often puts them at odds with the well trained warriors of Konrad who are disgusted by the needlessly violent nature of the Knights.
Followers of Tiagarath are openly at war with followers of darker gods this leads to often blood shed and civil unrest but as the church has much influence with Salenheim government this action has never been outlawed
Symbol:
The symbol of Tiagarath is easily the most recognizable in all of salenhein, he is Represented by the sun and the bright light it produces.
Shrines to Tiagarath are recognizable by a Large image of the Sun painted above the entry door, supposedly to scare off people with dark hearts.
Avatar:
The High priest of Tiagarath, the leader of his is church officially named the avatar of Tiagarath by his followers, however the vallidity of this is often questioned as unlike other Avatars the High priest of Tiagarath shows no visible powers above that of any other mortal. in fact one case exists where a High priest rumored to be corrupt was stuck down by the sword of beltar and the avatar of konrad, if the high priest did in fact try to resist it was a feeble attempt and hardly noticeable certainly not a performance expected from one blessed by an immortal.
Appearances:
Tiagarath is supposedly clearly visible in the sky everyday as he sits on his throne atop the sun and looks down upon the land. also during cursades it is rumoured that a unmistakable presence rides with Tiagarath's Knights when they charge down the enemy, there has been reports of clouds of dust taking the form of a great horseman and riding and even striking down foes with the knights.
